How to Find Exciting Companies Hiring Retail Managers

In today's newsletter, I'll guide you through the process of discovering which companies are actively hiring Retail Managers.

This is important because not only will it give you confidence and belief that it’s possible to transition into one of these companies.

But it will also give you a list of people you can reach out to and ask exactly how they made the career change you desire!

So, let's dive right in.

 

Your dream companies

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I’m a big believer in having a target list of employers

These are the companies you've always dreamed of working for, the ones that truly excite you, even if you once considered them out of reach.

This is your starting point.

If you find a Retail Manager working at these companies then you know it really is possible for you too. 

 

How to find Retail Managers at your dream companies

Step 1: Head over to LinkedIn and type in the search bar “manager” and select the people filter.

Step 2: Narrow down your search by choosing your target company from the "current company" filter.

In this example, we're going to target Reed in Partnership. 

Step 3: Further refine your search by adding a "past companies" filter. Select a variety of Retailers from your country, such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Walmart (if in the US), and more.

Step 4: Voila! You now have a comprehensive list of individuals who have transitioned from the Retail sector to your target company. Begin reviewing the results one by one.

This search result found 40 people who now work at Reed in Partnership but used to work in Retail.

Step 5: Reach out to the individuals who have made a similar leap you desire. Ask them to tell you about how they made the leap from Retail to your target company.

Here's a few interesting backgrounds from the results looking at Reed in Partnership. 

And there you have it.

A quick and easy way to find Retail Managers that have made the leap into industries and companies you might have previously ruled out.
